Gorgeous Reggie Cat

Reggie is pretty much our surrogate baby! I just took this photo of him looking absolutely adorable. Now he's got a bit older, he rarely sits with us on the sofa, but in rare moments he remembers how much he loves it. When he was a tiny kitten, he used this furry zebra blanket as his replacement mummy, kneading and suckling it whilst rubbing his nose. He hasn't done that in a long time, but he got on the sofa this morning for a bit of blankey loving! He absolutely makes my heart melt. Adorable Reg!

Leopard Print TV-a step too far?

Anyone that knows me will understand that I have a huge love for leopard print. I like to blame my Auntie who is obsessive about all things animal print (in a classy, non Bette Lynch kind of way). It must have rubbed off on me as a child! Anyway, I was flicking through the Argos leaflet that came inside the lady magazine free with the paper (typical paper for the man, magazine for the lady/pint of ale for the man, white wine for the lady) and I saw this leopard print tv. Now, I'm not in the market for a new tele, but it is rather tempting! Needless to say, a photo was immediately emailed to said Auntie! Nice :)

Salt beef bagel and guerilla knitting in brick lane

Admittedly these photos are from a while ago, but I decided to try a famous salt beef bagel from Brick Lane. The result was not good! It's rare that I don't like the taste of something but the taste and texture of the salt beef was not nice. I haven't ever tried salt beef but apparently if you try something over 20 times you'll grow to like it. On this occasion I'm not sure I'll try it. If you look close enough on the other photo, you can see a child's bike completely encased in a bright, knitted cover. A prime example of guerilla knitting! I was very proud of spotting that!

Geeky music joke-naturally!!!

I saw this online and had to re-post it. It's incredibly geeky but I love it!

I hope more than anything that this is real and dutifully enforced!!!

Home Sweet Home

We had a great time in Cornwall and it was so nice to be back home. My mum is in love with her kitten that we got her and it was just amazing to eat comfort food of pasty and fish and chips and go for long walks on the beach. The weather wasn't great but it was such a good break. We're back in London now and I've unfortunately had to start my post-comfort food diet and fitness regime. I got a couch to 5k app for my phone and went for the 30 min jog-walk regime this morning. It hurt like hell and I was "glowing as my mum would say" but it also felt really good-surprisingly. I've also been using My Fitness Pal app which is great for making sure I'm not over eating and burning the calories. Now time to relax...oh, wait...I forgot to practice piano (lesson tomorrow)...groan!!! Then relax!!! :)

J'adore mon grande chat...

That is all that needs to be said! Apart from he is beautiful and a great poser-aww!

Candle night in celebration of being home!

After a long and tiring journey back from c'wall we decided to celebrate with a bottle of wine, a good bit of Eastenders and lighting all of the candles we physically could in the flat. Relaxing, satisfying and amazing! (just ignore Shirley's face in the background!!)

Piano Water Feature-I want one!!

This is so cool! The moment I am able to buy a house and it has any tiny slip of a garden, I'm going to make this piano water feature! It's amazing! I also want to get a boat to use as an outside bar and a reading tent! Bliss....

Gorgeous Guitars

I love this pic-featuring the new addition to the string family-my amazing ukulele that I got for my b'day. Aah...and relax :)

New addition to the family...

Oh my goodness, what a stressful couple of days! We drove down to c'wall to see my mum on Fri and the journey was horrendous-there was accident after accident on the motorway-it was horrible! We were supposed to be going to pick up a surprise kitten for my mum before going to her house, but the journey took just over 10 hours (instead of the usual 5) so we had to save getting the kitten until the morning. We made up some excuse to my mum about visiting friends and off we went!! I was so scared of my mum's impending reaction! I knew that she would like a cat and it would be good for her, but she's never has one before, she hates surprises and isn't overly keen on committing to anything! So stressed and anxious was an understatement for how I felt! We had reserved the most gorgeous tabby kitten-he's a little bit older than the usual 8-10 weeks that you get kittens but no-one wanted him! How sad! He is like a huge purring machine-so placid and just an amazing temperament. When we got home with him, my mum came to open the door and started freaking out, asking; "whose cat is that?" and would not believe us when we said hers! Eventually it sunk in and she fell in love with him immediately! He is an amazing character! He's been named Ronnie (as our cat is Reggie), so let's hope the two are able to meet up some day and cause some mischief!! X

Finished wine bottle

Finished painted wine bottle. I feel like a child (a happy, proud one!) The plan is to put fairy lights in it and transform it into a lamp. Upcycling boo-yah!

Painting lightbulbs!

I've finished my painted lightbulb! It took a long time, holding it carefully and waiting for the black outliner to dry (while the free hand was hastily trying to fashion a makeshift lightbulb holder out of the package the glass paints came in). It was slightly chaotic! But I am so pleased with the psychedelic results-and it's not even dark yet! Pitch black shots to come later.

Glass painting!

So I've been finding an excuse to eat GU desserts and drink wine-and here it is...the glass ramekins and bottles they come in! Joel and I got some glass paints and have been fulfilling our creative desires and love for tea lights by painting away. I'm going to put fairy lights in the wine bottle when it's finished. I think it'll look really cute. Right, back to drinking more wine-I need another empty bottle! X

Umbrellas in Portugal

This is a quick post, but I think this is absolutely gorgeous-some umbrellas that have been used as art in Portugal. I think we should have that on every high street in the UK due to the large quantity of rainfall we seem to experience. Perhaps I will go and write a letter to Mr Prime Minister....

Cycling, cider drinking and plant buying...

So, today Joel and I decided we'd actually make use of our bikes and the good weather and we went for a cycle (to the pub!) where we had a lovely lunch (bean burger for me) and some aspell cider. It was so nice but I kind of struggled to get back on the bike afterwards after relaxing for so long! I then did a bit of gardening and bought and re-potted some plants for the lounge-I'm not sure how long they'll survive, but fingers crossed!! Ciao! X

A full fridge is a happy fridge...

I love and I hate going food shopping. A lot of the time I find it an absolute pain and we always seem to go at the wrong time (when the whole world decides they need feeding!) But I love the results-a good, full fridge to create good, full bellies! Amen to Asda! X

Some crafty, inspirational happenings...

I can't take credit for any of these creations, but they're a few images I've stockpiled and want to share. I like to look at them in times of creative droughts.

Prince: A Purple Reign

Just watched this documentary-what an absolute legend Prince is! A really enjoyable hour...betcha bye golly wow...

Wow, it's been a while!!

Hey! Wow, it's been an incredibly long time since I've written on here! Well, I'll start by updating you, the reader, whoever you may be...first of all, I am lacking a computer at the moment so I am currently typing this on my phone. I may have a very worn out index finger by the end of this post, but on the plus side I should come out the other end a seriously fast texter! So, secondly, I moved to London-just over a year ago now and I am loving it. Thirdly, we (myself and the gorgeous boyf) got a cat-a little monochrome ball of fluffiness called Reggie. He is totally adorable and is treated like a surrogate monkey-cat-cow(print)-doglike baby! Whilst looking after him, our neighbours realised that he only answers to Yiddish slang, so we will be holding a catmitzvah for him some time in the not too distant future. Fourthly, I took the huge leap and started piano lessons yesterday. I am now the proud owner of a digital piano, so I feel very grown up! Other than that, I can't really think what to write. I can't promise I will update this anytime soon, but I have the best of intentions-we'll see. I'm not even sure who reads this, or why, but hey ho! Oh, and before I forget-I just read 50 Shades of Filth (god knows why!)-what a load of rubbish! "Peace Out!!" x
